Energy consultancy FAQs
Common questions about our independent energy consultancy services.
What is ESOS and does my business need to comply?
The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requires large UK businesses to carry out energy audits every 4 years. Businesses qualify if they have 250 or more employees, or an annual turnover exceeding €50m and a balance sheet exceeding €43m. We can advise on compliance and carry out ESOS assessments.
What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?
A Power Purchase Agreement is a long-term contract to buy electricity directly from a renewable energy generator — typically a solar or wind farm. PPAs can provide price certainty and support your sustainability credentials. We advise on PPA suitability and help businesses evaluate and negotiate these contracts.
Can you help us reduce our carbon footprint?
Yes. We can carry out a carbon footprint assessment, identify the most impactful reduction opportunities and help you develop a credible net zero roadmap. This includes advice on renewable energy, efficiency measures and carbon offsetting where appropriate.
How do your consultancy fees work?
Our consultancy fees are agreed upfront and are transparent. For straightforward procurement work, we're typically remunerated by supplier commission. For broader consultancy projects — audits, carbon assessments, strategy work — we charge a fixed fee agreed before work begins.
